Know the Score

I know I said I was going to upload some Ceremony, but I just never really got around to it. However, I've been listening to Know the Score a lot the past few days, and I realized that it's really hard to find their music for download. If you haven't heard them, Know the Score is aggressive hardcore punk from Florida, their in your face and don't care what you think. This is made apparent by their lyrics, which suggest that you're probably worthless and washed up, and deserve to have your ass kicked for one reason or another. The songs are catchy though, and their shows are always a good time. I highly recommend that you check out both of these albums, and hit up one of their shows, and as always, buy some merch and spend money on the music! Just make sure you stay out of Mike Murphy's way, these guy's don't play games and neither does their crew.

This post contains the re-release of their first album, All Guts, No Glory. The re-release(aptly titled All Guts, Still No Glory), contains five newer songs that had yet to be released, and does not include one track titled Under My Skin, which is still available on the original version of the release. Also up for download is All Time Low, their second and latest release.

Converge

What could I say about Converge that hasn't been said? Their abnormal and experimental take on hardcore music has influenced many artists in the nearly 20 years that they've been a band. For the whole maybe 5 people who follow this blog, you're probably familiar with them, if you're a new listener, this band will strike you from so many angles in so many ways, you probably won't know what to think at first. They've opened the door of the hardcore scene to many people, bridging the gap between metal and hardcore with some kind of erratic finesse. It's easy to see a progression in their skill as musicians just by moving from their early stuff like Caring and Killing to the later released and acclaimed Jane Doe. Whether you're into Have Heart or Hellchild, you'll like Converge.

And as I promised, here is my personal Converge collection. It consists of every title from 1994's Halo in a Haystack to 2006's No Heroes(except some splits). They do have earlier stuff, but it's so hard to come by, I'd probably have to ask Jacob Bannon himself for it. Though, I do have both their Y2K EP and the 5 inch Downpour/Serial Killer EP, both limited to 1000 copies each. So download what you don't have, and if you don't have anything then download everything. Be sure though, to purchase as much of Converge's music as you can, give back to the guys that continue to prove themselves year after year as one of hardcore's best bands. And keep an eye out for the new album coming out later this year, pre-orders should probably be up soon.

In an effort to increase the hype over Converge's new album later this year, I've been thinking about posting my personal Converge collection. Which is a total of about 750MB of music. It's taking forever to upload all the files to mediafire, but once it's finished, I'll put it all up for your listening pleasure. I've got some gems, that were VERY hard to find. I'll also put up some Ceremony later, maybe tomorrow.

Cockpunch! - Attack!

Holy shit, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything, I've been pretty busy, and I've been sleeping a lot. But to make up for my lack of commitment, I'll be working extra hard to deliver the goods for the few followers I might have. I haven't stopped this blog, there's a lot that's yet to be posted.

Here, for example, is some funny straight edge hardcore punk by the band Cockpunch! Featuring Vincent Bennett, the vocalist of The Acacia Strain, this band is right in your face, calling out fakes and representing straight edge with integrity. But they definitely don't lack a sense of humor. It may not be remotely as heavy as TAS, but it's pretty fun to listen to. Unfortunately, Cockpunch! doesn't tour much, so seeing them is quite difficult. If you have the chance though, do it, and buy some merch! This is the only album by this band that I have personally, if you like it, and want to hear more, just let me know and I'll get it for you.
