Carpathian

For the second day in a row, upon request, I'll be posting something for your listening pleasure. Today it's Carpathian, an Australian hardcore band that's recently made their way across the great ocean to American soil. And with their latest full length being released in the states under the Deathwish label, it's not a stretch to see them blowing up in North America soon.

Though their older stuff had a more generic "tough guy", and almost metalcore sound, their latest release, Isolation, and the EP that preceded it, Wrecked, have a much more modern, northeastern American sound(similar to that of Shipwreck AD and Have Heart). Isolation is by far their best release to date, and I'm anxious to see what else this band has to offer. If you appreciate progression, then give their older stuff a listen. It will blow your mind how much Carpathian has matured both musically and lyrically over time. Here's everything I have, and please, see this band on their next US tour! It won't happen too often, so you should go to a show whenever you have the chance.

Foundation

Upon request, I'm posting everything I have from Atlanta Straightedge band Foundation. If you've yet to check this band out, you're missing out some pretty decent lyricism. It's easy to sing along to, and every line will go straight to your core. The music in itself is enough to get even the most timid of hardcore fans moving, it will pump you up and give you a reason to love this scene. So do this band a favor and buy some merch, buy some vinyl, and definitely go to a show or two.

You know, this may be one of the most short lived blogs in history. I've become very submerged in homework, projects and other school related things this month, and a lot has happened in the past few weeks. So, this blog has virtually flat-lined. I'm apologetic to those of you actually followed it, the whole two or three of you. Send me an email, any of you who look at this, and if I ever post anything again or if you just want some jams, I'll keep you informed or send you some music. I've got much to share, just not a lot of time to sit and upload files to the internet every afternoon. Goodbye.

Know the Score

I know I said I was going to upload some Ceremony, but I just never really got around to it. However, I've been listening to Know the Score a lot the past few days, and I realized that it's really hard to find their music for download. If you haven't heard them, Know the Score is aggressive hardcore punk from Florida, their in your face and don't care what you think. This is made apparent by their lyrics, which suggest that you're probably worthless and washed up, and deserve to have your ass kicked for one reason or another. The songs are catchy though, and their shows are always a good time. I highly recommend that you check out both of these albums, and hit up one of their shows, and as always, buy some merch and spend money on the music! Just make sure you stay out of Mike Murphy's way, these guy's don't play games and neither does their crew.

This post contains the re-release of their first album, All Guts, No Glory. The re-release(aptly titled All Guts, Still No Glory), contains five newer songs that had yet to be released, and does not include one track titled Under My Skin, which is still available on the original version of the release. Also up for download is All Time Low, their second and latest release.

Converge

What could I say about Converge that hasn't been said? Their abnormal and experimental take on hardcore music has influenced many artists in the nearly 20 years that they've been a band. For the whole maybe 5 people who follow this blog, you're probably familiar with them, if you're a new listener, this band will strike you from so many angles in so many ways, you probably won't know what to think at first. They've opened the door of the hardcore scene to many people, bridging the gap between metal and hardcore with some kind of erratic finesse. It's easy to see a progression in their skill as musicians just by moving from their early stuff like Caring and Killing to the later released and acclaimed Jane Doe. Whether you're into Have Heart or Hellchild, you'll like Converge.

And as I promised, here is my personal Converge collection. It consists of every title from 1994's Halo in a Haystack to 2006's No Heroes(except some splits). They do have earlier stuff, but it's so hard to come by, I'd probably have to ask Jacob Bannon himself for it. Though, I do have both their Y2K EP and the 5 inch Downpour/Serial Killer EP, both limited to 1000 copies each. So download what you don't have, and if you don't have anything then download everything. Be sure though, to purchase as much of Converge's music as you can, give back to the guys that continue to prove themselves year after year as one of hardcore's best bands. And keep an eye out for the new album coming out later this year, pre-orders should probably be up soon.

In an effort to increase the hype over Converge's new album later this year, I've been thinking about posting my personal Converge collection. Which is a total of about 750MB of music. It's taking forever to upload all the files to mediafire, but once it's finished, I'll put it all up for your listening pleasure. I've got some gems, that were VERY hard to find. I'll also put up some Ceremony later, maybe tomorrow.

Cockpunch! - Attack!

Holy shit, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything, I've been pretty busy, and I've been sleeping a lot. But to make up for my lack of commitment, I'll be working extra hard to deliver the goods for the few followers I might have. I haven't stopped this blog, there's a lot that's yet to be posted.

Here, for example, is some funny straight edge hardcore punk by the band Cockpunch! Featuring Vincent Bennett, the vocalist of The Acacia Strain, this band is right in your face, calling out fakes and representing straight edge with integrity. But they definitely don't lack a sense of humor. It may not be remotely as heavy as TAS, but it's pretty fun to listen to. Unfortunately, Cockpunch! doesn't tour much, so seeing them is quite difficult. If you have the chance though, do it, and buy some merch! This is the only album by this band that I have personally, if you like it, and want to hear more, just let me know and I'll get it for you.

Blacklisted

I know I haven't posted all week, but I've been really busy. Anyway, here's a Blacklisted discography. Blacklisted have come a long way in the modern hardcore scene, their shows are huge; packed with tons of energy. And their latest release, Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God received great reviews. With blistering vocals and crushing bass and percussion, Blacklisted will definitely blow you away if you haven't heard them. If you're already a fan, then hopefully you can find something here that you don't already have. I know the split with First Blood is kind of hard to find, and Eye For An Eye, which happens to be one of their best songs, is on that split. So download and enjoy this discography. Do this great band a favor and go to a show, buy some cd's and some merch and mosh.

By the way, that picture by Matt Miller is probably the coolest picture ever.

Ice Age - Demo (2007)

I downloaded this band Ice Age's demo when they posted it up for free download on their myspace back in early 2007, but with the new myspace player, it's no longer available. Since the release of this demo Ice Age has played a few shows here and there, and over two years later their finally working on a full length. With a sound reminiscent of Blacklisted, circa The Beat Goes On, they've got a lot of potential. Keep an eye on these guys, the four tracks on this demo are explosive as hell, and I can guarantee the full length will be as well.

I'll post the full length as soon as it comes out. Until then, you HAVE to download this.

Barriers Now Bridges

Barriers Now Bridges was a great hardcore band from Florida. They toured extensively in their three years as a band, and their last show was really ill. Some kid even got sparta kicked through a fence outside.

Their sound is fast, fun, and somewhat melodic. If you're a fan of Killing The Dream, you'll probably like BNB. There's really no way to purchase their music anymore, but seeing as they put all their songs up for free download on their myspace, it's probably okay to download them here. Check it out and wish that you'd had the chance to see them.

Bracewar

This band Bracewar, for the first time in about two years, finally released something new. Here's both their old releases, their self titled 7" and Juggernaut, along with new demo, Whatever It Takes. If you're into faster, more aggressive hardcore this band is for you. Their shows, though few and far between, are wild. If they happen to come to your town though, make sure you head out and support them.

Like always, I encourage you to buy everything you hear in this blog. Don't let good bands like this die off. I bought their shit, you should too.

I'm not sure what the hell happened, but the post of Portugal. The Man's new album is no longer there, and I didn't delete it. I can't figure out for the life of me WHY. So I guess I'll just post something else. Give me a few, and I'll give you some Bracewar and BNB.

Trap Them

This band Trap Them is pretty ill. They're music is fast, and blends hardcore and grind without creating a lame sound. They throw in blast beats, but also mix in great down tempo heavy hardcore parts. It's different, but it's worth a listen. Here's three of four albums they've recorded. They have a split 7" with Extreme Noise Terror, and when I get the mp3's I'll post that too. Until then, you'll have to buy it.

Trash Talk

In case you live in a hole, Trash Talk has rapidly risen to the top of the hardcore scene with their fast, thrashing hardcore and wild shows. If you haven't seen them, you need to. And that's easy because they tour all the damn time. This shit is just fun, aggressive hardcore.

Wolftron

Seeing as this blog is named after a Wolftron song, today I feel it's necessary that I share some Wolftron music. This is the latest solo project of Kenny Choi, the singer for Daphne Loves Derby. Some songs have a folk sound, others have an indie sound with some nice vocal effects. His shit is pretty mellow and his lyrics aren't bad either. The Activate EP is very hard to come by, so make sure you grab that down below.

Download these albums, and like any other artist posted so far, if you like what you hear then buy it.
