Foundation

Upon request, I'm posting everything I have from Atlanta Straightedge band Foundation. If you've yet to check this band out, you're missing out some pretty decent lyricism. It's easy to sing along to, and every line will go straight to your core. The music in itself is enough to get even the most timid of hardcore fans moving, it will pump you up and give you a reason to love this scene. So do this band a favor and buy some merch, buy some vinyl, and definitely go to a show or two.

Converge

What could I say about Converge that hasn't been said? Their abnormal and experimental take on hardcore music has influenced many artists in the nearly 20 years that they've been a band. For the whole maybe 5 people who follow this blog, you're probably familiar with them, if you're a new listener, this band will strike you from so many angles in so many ways, you probably won't know what to think at first. They've opened the door of the hardcore scene to many people, bridging the gap between metal and hardcore with some kind of erratic finesse. It's easy to see a progression in their skill as musicians just by moving from their early stuff like Caring and Killing to the later released and acclaimed Jane Doe. Whether you're into Have Heart or Hellchild, you'll like Converge.

And as I promised, here is my personal Converge collection. It consists of every title from 1994's Halo in a Haystack to 2006's No Heroes(except some splits). They do have earlier stuff, but it's so hard to come by, I'd probably have to ask Jacob Bannon himself for it. Though, I do have both their Y2K EP and the 5 inch Downpour/Serial Killer EP, both limited to 1000 copies each. So download what you don't have, and if you don't have anything then download everything. Be sure though, to purchase as much of Converge's music as you can, give back to the guys that continue to prove themselves year after year as one of hardcore's best bands. And keep an eye out for the new album coming out later this year, pre-orders should probably be up soon.

Blacklisted

I know I haven't posted all week, but I've been really busy. Anyway, here's a Blacklisted discography. Blacklisted have come a long way in the modern hardcore scene, their shows are huge; packed with tons of energy. And their latest release, Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God received great reviews. With blistering vocals and crushing bass and percussion, Blacklisted will definitely blow you away if you haven't heard them. If you're already a fan, then hopefully you can find something here that you don't already have. I know the split with First Blood is kind of hard to find, and Eye For An Eye, which happens to be one of their best songs, is on that split. So download and enjoy this discography. Do this great band a favor and go to a show, buy some cd's and some merch and mosh.

By the way, that picture by Matt Miller is probably the coolest picture ever.
